2021 TAX FILING INFO

Steps to take now to make 2021 tax filing easier.
Gather all of your tax records. Since most tax documents are not mailed anymore, please make sure to contact your employer/brokerage/government on how to obtain the information necessary to file your 2020 tax return.
  • Most income is taxable so taxpayers should gather the necessary income documents including, but not limited to:
  • W-2 for wage income
  • 1099 from banks/brokerage
  • 1099-NEC (previously form 1099 MISC) for contracting work
  • Notice 1444, Economic Impact Payment (stimulus check)
  • 1099-G for unemployment income: Please contact your state agency on how to obtain this form if you are unsure.
  • Retirement Distribution: If you took money out of your retirement as part of the CARES act please click here for more information. Please make sure to retrieve your form 1099-R.
Gifts/Grants/Loans: Please contact the company/government agency regarding any tax documents and/or other information.

*Make note of any address changes. Please make sure you have the date, location, and duration of your stay for each different location throughout 2020.
